After moving back to Petersfield, she joined the Arts and Crafts Society and became Curator at Gallery No.30 on the Petersfield High Street. She has been on the PACS Committee and PACS Exhibition Team for 3 years and is always keen to chat with other artists about their art practices.
In 2024, Marnie joined Churcher’s College as an Art Technician and became Artist in Residence at King Edward’s School Witley, where she currently runs the Art Scholars program.
Marnie predominantly works in Oils and Textiles, whilst exploring themes around the “Human Experience”, she mostly enjoys painting expressive self-portraits.

Information about the day
Marnie will start the day by demystifying the “Self Portrait”, and artists will work on quick, expressive warm-up activities before moving onto a sustained oil painting. Throughout the day, artists will gain confidence in examining themselves, understanding their features, and refining their oil painting techniques. We will discuss how to find a likeness within your portrait, explore colour palettes, and develop your own style of painting. All artists will end the day with the skills to create a successful self-portrait.
Whilst artists are welcome to paint any portrait, it is encouraged to use the day to focus on their own self-portrait.
Marnie will bring: Charcoal, Paper, Burnt Sienna Acrylic Paint, White Spirit, Kitchen Roll, cling film and extra Oil Paints.
