PACS 90th birthday celebration and AGM was held at the Herne Leisure Centre on 28th August, and the party pieces were in full swing with balloons, mulled wine and a large cake which had been decorated to reflect the wide variety of arts and crafts that our members produce.
The evening began with the opportunity for some informal chat, followed by the formal business of reports of activities in the year, the annual accounts and approval of the minutes of the previous years meeting.
Once the record of this years meeting is approved, it will be posted on the members page in our membership system along with a copy of the annual accounts. Just click on the Membership > My Membership menu to access the system and then view the Members Home page. Or, Click this link to access the membership system
After the formal business, members took part in a short “arty themed” quiz set by the Chair, for which the prize was a bag of chocolate coins for the winning team. There was also a Christmas Card competition, and the winner and runner up for that were chosen by a poll of members at the meeting.
In recognition of the 90 year milestone, our previous Chairman, Richard Baker had prepared a wonderful timeline of PACS records and memorabilia through the ages. The sort of thing that is already being consigned to history in the digital age we live in. Some of this is available on the website. Just follow the link to “Our History” on the Home page.
