On this page, we take the opportunity to show images from our most recent workshops. Click the menu below or scroll down to view. The 2025 programme is well underway but if you are feeling inspired, now is a good time to think about joining PACS to take advantage of membership discounts on workshops. The new programme was launched at the AGM in November 2024 and work is already underway for the 2026 programme.
Our workshop coordinator emails members in advance of the booking facility being open, and non-members will have the opportunity to book any spare places shortly afterwards. There is also a reserves list, so if the workshop you are interested in is fully booked you can register your interest and if a place comes available you may be contacted. It is first come, first served.
MARCH 2025 wORKSHOP - SHERYL PAPE- WATERCOLOUR bearded iris
Sherly Pape is renown for her detailed botanical paintings of fine blooms and this workshop was all about how it is achieved. Sheryl had her work cut out with there being 5 other tutors in the group but everyone benefitted from Sheryl’s skill.
FEBRUARY 2025 - Nic Cowper- "Bring on Spring now!" - landscape watercolour
This months workshop participants worked with Nic to bring a breath of springtime to the Triangle Centre by painting landscape scenes using watercolours.
Nic Cowper started with a paper folding exercise to show the economy of a large sheet of paper before exploring the secondary and tertiary opportunities available from the 3 primary colours.
The third exercise showed how using just key ‘marks’ can produce a convincing tree in a landscape: this had an almost a magical effect with some participants! In the afternoon, the group followed a step by step approach to produce some wonderful landscapes of crop fields.
A series showing the evolution of the path through the field. Feedback from the group was that they liked the step by step approach.
january 2025 louise turpIn - characterful painting pen & watercolour
Our first workshop of 2025 was hosted by our very own demonstrations coordinator, Louise Turpin. A qualified graphic designer and illustrator, Louise has run workshops for PACS before and this one was no exception, being sold out at an early stage. Looks like a fun day was had by all.
