Alison Butler is the founder and creative force behind Blooming Designs. A talented textile designer, artist, and teacher.
Alison brings decades of experience, passion, and innovation to everything she creates. In addition to producing her own original artwork, she runs a vibrant programme of art workshops throughout the year and curates Art in the Barn, a much-loved, twice-yearly celebration of creativity held on her family’s farm.
Alison graduated from Loughborough University in 1990 with a degree in Printed Textiles, where she co-founded Blooming Designs alongside a fellow student.
Her creative talents extend well beyond textiles. Alison has collaborated with various clients to produce striking large-scale backdrops for corporate events, exhibitions, and theatre productions—bringing a sense of scale, drama, and artistic flair to each commission.
Today, Alison lives with her family on their picturesque family farm in the Meon Valley, where she continues to grow Blooming Designs as both a creative studio and a community hub for artistic exploration.
