“I am a practicing artist, I live in the Meon Valley and work from my studio. I studied Fine Art at university and my initial area of interest was sculpture and conceptual art, however later in life I turned to colour and using gold which I have always been fascinated in. I trained as an icon painter under Peter Murphy who has painted icons for some of our great cathedrals.

I teach icon painting courses here in churches and also in Romania, I am inspired by sacred art of all types: frescoes, icons, religious sculpture, etc

My main area of work in recent years has been icon painting, for commissions, for courses and for exhibitions. I teach in the traditional Byzantine style using wooden, gessoes panels, egg tempera and 23.5 carat gold – my students learn how to gild both loose leaf and assist gold, and learn how to paint using egg tempera.”
